Coulomb corrections for Bose-Einstein correlations in whole momentum transfer region: Proposal of seamless fitting

چکیده
We applied an improved Coulomb correction method developed by us recently to data on identical KK-pairs production in S + Pb and p + Pb reactions at 200 GeV/c obtained by NA44 Collaboration. To analyse the whole range of the momentum transfers measured the method of ”seamless fitting” has been proposed and used together with the asymptotic expansion formula for the Coulomb wave function. We found that such Coulomb corrections lead sometimes to different than previously reported (by NA44 Collaboration) interaction region and strongly influence the long range correlations. Preprint DPSU-95-4 (July, 1995) Introduction: Recently NA44 Collaboration has reported their data on the Bose-Einstein correlations (BEC) of K±K± pairs produced in S + Pb and p + Pb reactions at 200 GeV/c [1]. In our previous work [2] we have analysed these data by making use of the various source functions with the long range correlation (without, however, invoking any sort of Coulomb corrections). The data [1] have been corrected for Coulomb interactions by applying only the Gamow factor. As was pointed out some time ago by Bowler this is, however, not sufficient [3]. In our recent works [4, 5] the still improved method of Coulomb corrections was presented but not yet applied to any concrete data set. In the present Letter, we apply it therefore to the analysis of data for K±K± pairs production in S + Pb and p + Pb reactions e-mail: [email protected] e-mail: [email protected]

Coulomb wave function corrections for n-particle Bose-Einstein correlations
The effect of multi-particle Coulomb final state interactions on higher-order intensity correlations is determined in general, based on a scattering wave function which is solution of the n-body Coulomb Schrödinger equation in (a large part of) the asymptotic region of n-body configuration space. In particular, we study Coulomb effects on the n-particle Bose-Einstein correlation functions of si...

We report on a systematic treatment of Coulomb corrections for 3-and n-particle (Bose-Einstein) correlations, leading to a removal of a 100 % systematic error from earlier Coulomb corrections of 5-particle Bose-Einstein correlations in heavy ion collisions. These results are generalized to include strong final state interactions and core-halo effects.
متن کاملBOSE-EINSTEIN CORRELATIONS IN PION PRODUCTION AT TRISTAN
Measurement of Bose-Einstein correlations in the production of like-signed pion pairs has been made with the AMY detector at TRISTAN. An event sample of 10120 hadronic events with ranging between 50 to 61 GeV was used. These measurements indicate a strength of the enhancement of ? = 0.61M.07, with a typical correlation size of Ro = 1.16±.08 fm. This value of ? is consistent with measurem...
متن کاملAnalyses of two and three pion Bose-Einstein Correlations using Coulomb wave functions
Using effective formulas we analyze the Bose-Einstein correlations (BEC) data corrected for Coulomb interactions provided by STAR Collaboration and the quasicorrected data (raw data with acceptance correction etc) on 2π and 3π BEC by using Coulomb wave function with coherence parameter included. The corresponding magnitudes of the interaction regions turn out to be almost the same: RCoul(2π) ≃ ...
